Climate Change
In November, 2007 the intergovernmental panel on climate change reaffirmed that climate system warming is “unequivocal” and called for adaptation to reduce risks and vulnerabilities.
The accepted effects of climate system warming are:
- Increased rates of sea level rise.
- An increased number of storm events of greater intensity that will generate higher storm surges and wave energy.
- Changes to the regional growing season and watershed regimes.
- Coastal erosion and flooding.
